Kerry Smith

Kerry Smith is Gender Policy Advisor for Amnesty International UK. Kerry started her career as a caseworker with the Refuge Legal Centre, before qualifying as a solicitor with the niche civil liberties firm Bhatt Murphy. Â After having undertaken missions for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ethiopia and Colombia she returned to the UK in 2006 to focus on both domestic and international work on gender based violence. Â In her work with Amnesty International, she has managed to combine the two. Â Undertaking short missions with Amnesty International IS to Chad and Sierra Leone, focussing on violence against women in times of conflict and by focussing on trafficking and violence against women with uncertain immigration status in her work with Amnesty UK.
